Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Your driver guide, based on your Nairobi location, will pick you up and give you a briefing about the safari. Your journey to Masai Mara National Reserve will take between 5 and 6 hours. The journey provides travellers with opportunities to observe the Great Rift Valley escarpment and traditional homesteads and vast landscapes. After breakfast you will rest at Narok town before continuing to your reserved lodge.
Your arrival at the lodge includes checking in before continuing to an evening game drive that reveals both grazing animals like elephants and buffaloes and predators such as lions and leopards when luck is on your side. The day ends with dinner at the lodge and spending the night.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve
You will have an early breakfast before embarking on a complete day Kenya Wildlife tour through Masai Mara National Reserve. The planned game drive allows guests to encounter the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros – as well as zebras, wildebeests and giraffes, followed by sightings of predators like cheetahs.
From July to October visitors can watch millions of wildebeests and zebras move across the Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania for fresh grazing areas. The river crossing draws both crocodiles and lions to feed on the crossing animals.
The game drive includes stopping at the reserve for a picnic lunch while admiring the landscape of the savannah. You will examine diverse regions of the reserve during the day until you reach the lodge late in the afternoon for rest and dining, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and visit to a Maasai village
A morning game drive helps you observe predators like lions, leopards and hyenas during their early activities before they go into hiding. Giraffes and zebras can be observed as they eat grass on the wide-open plains during early morning hours.
After the game drive, go back to the lodge for breakfast before proceeding to see a Maasai village to gain insight into their customs and traditions. The Maasai community allows visitors to communicate with them as well as take photo memories and acquire local handmade items like baskets.
You will go back to the lodge for lunch and have some relaxation time until evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: A transfer to Lake Naivasha, a boat ride.
You will begin your commute to Lake Naivasha, which lies in the Great Rift Valley, after your lodge breakfast and departure. The travel time from Nairobi to Meru National Park requires 5 hours with an organised lunch stop during the trip.
The first order of business upon your arrival is to check into the lodge before boarding a boat for Lake Naivasha to view fabulous scenery and numerous water birds and hippos. The boat excursion will end at the lodge while you enjoy dinner before spending the night.
Day 5: Crescent Island nature walk and relaxation
A guided nature walk on Crescent Island will begin after breakfast since this sanctuary hosts freely roaming giraffes along with zebras, impalas and wildebeests for sightseeing. Guests who walk through this area will discover beautiful sights of Lake Naivasha while enjoying its environs.
In the afternoon go on a nature walk in Crescent Island; later go to the lodge and rest or participate in cycling or touring surrounding attractions. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Departure to Nairobi
Have breakfast, check out of the lodge and head back to Nairobi. Your driver guide will drop you at the location of your choice or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
