Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Your driver guide from Nairobi will meet you and explain everything related to your safari experience. After this drive, you will reach the Maasai Mara National Reserve in 5 to 6 hours. While travelling, you will observe the Great Rift Valley from your vehicle and enjoy lunch at Narok town before entering the reserve area.
When you arrive, you will check into your lodge and go on the first evening game drive. On this Kenya safari, you will observe numerous Kenyan wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, zebras and potentially big cats: leopards and lions. When your game drive ends, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Maasai Mara
You will begin your day by having breakfast right before departing for a complete game drive across the Maasai Mara’s wide grasslands. You have the highest opportunity to find different animals during this drive, including wildebeests, cheetahs, antelopes and the Big Five (lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes and rhinos).
During the period from July to October, you can observe millions of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara River as they travel from Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, to new grazing lands. Crocodiles and other hunters monitor the animals as they cross the river while waiting to feast on them.
You will eat your picnic meal in the reserve with amazing savannah views. After lunch, you will explore more of the park on your game drive and go back to the lodge during the late afternoon for your meal and rest.
Day 3: Morning game drive and cultural visit
Wake up early in the morning for a predator spotting tour because lions and hyenas will have returned to their hiding places. You will experience the first activities of savannah animals, including grazing giraffes and zebras.
You will return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing to the Maasai village to explore their cultural heritage. You will observe cultural dances performed by locals and have conversations while experiencing Maasai folk traditions.
You can spend your afternoon unwinding at the lodge or join nature walks, while others may choose optional activities. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer from Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park
Have breakfast at your lodge, then proceed to check out and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park for the day’s adventure. The journey requires 5 hours of driving, during which travellers can witness the beauty of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
When you arrive at the lodge, you will have lunch and then do an afternoon game drive after lunch. Lake Nakuru attracts many flamingos, which combine to give the beach beautiful pink tones. Visitors can admire numerous rhinos and see giraffes, zebras, baboons and lions. Following the evening game drive, you will go back to the lodge to eat dinner and sleep.

Day 5: Explore Lake Nakuru National Park wildlife
At breakfast, you will depart for an early morning wildlife exploration at Lake Nakuru National Park. During your tour through Lake Nakuru National Park, you will spot rhinos, buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks and baboons, plus many types of birds like flamingos, augur buzzards and grey-backed fiscals. The picturesque views between Lake Nakuru and the nearby scenery make perfect backgrounds for quality pictures.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and personal relaxation time after concluding the game drive. You can opt for an afternoon nature tour or make use of the lodge facilities. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer back to Nairobi
Wake up, have breakfast, and then leave your lodge for the return trip to Nairobi. On your way, you will have a stopover for lunch and proceed to the city. The driver guide will drop you off at your chosen spot or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
